Give your face the hug it deserves

THESE ARE GOING TO BE HUGE!

How come no one came up with these before.

I'm sure these are great for the facial hair challenged.

When are the going to come out with the ZZ top versions? And the Father Time?

Video Game Orchestra

As I was looking for Weezer remixes, I came across this recommended site.

Here is what Pterodactyl Squad has to say about themselves:
Pterodactyl Squad is a netlabel - an online record label which distributes music for free - and all the music we release is inspired by video games. We split our releases into three categories: original music, video game soundtracks - these may be faux soundtracks or soundtracks for indie games - and tribute albums. Download all the music you want and play it on your PC, put it on your MP3 player, burn it to CD and tell your friends!

I'm not big into video games, but I do like music and creativity. These artists have some serious creativity. I can only imagine the time and patience that goes into this, and I am impressed.

Not only did they do a great job with well known Weezer songs, they also nailed some other artists;

Check out their other releases.

the trappings of eating healthy

As I was checking out of the aisle at Walmart (I haven't found much selection here for food), the cashier says, "Wow, you must eat really healthy," and this was followed by, "What is hummus? Some kind of bean product?"

Do it yourself, tarahumara hurache running sandals

I've been working on making my own hurache/tarahumara running sandals for sometime now.

Seeing some other examples, I've been working on these off and on for close to 2 years. I've tried a variety of materials, and tying methods.

I think I've come up with what works best for me.

So with my penchant for bikes, I found what works best is a relatively smooth BMX street tire due to it's width and lack of knobs. Some traction is good otherwise they can get "slippery when wet."

I first used 1/4" leather cord. These held together, but cut into the skin, which was rather uncomfortable. I switched over to a old pair of shoelaces I had, and these were a marked improvement. When these wore out, I found some 1/2 inch thick shoelaces. Best fit and usability thus far.

Now tying them was the biggest ongoing process. I have figured out how to tie them so that I can simply slip them on and off with having to retie them each time, and they still fit snugly enough for running.

A work in progress, but now a working solution.

Plus they make great Christmas gifts!
